Acantho

Acantho is an Italian local operator owned by the Hera S.p.A. utility consortium, Infracom S.p.A. and Con.AMI. groups. It provides 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps broadband connectivity and services directly to business and residential customers, using Ethernet and optical fiber.

Italtel Solution

Italtel has been selected by Acantho as System Integrator to build the whole NGN solution, based on Italtel/Cisco Systems products. Italtel deployed the Acantho's Metropolitan Area Networks and the regional backbone, allowing the operator to offer integrated voice and data services.
The solution based on the Italtel i-SSW (Italtel Softswitch) manages the interworking between the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and the IP H.323 network, providing VoIP users with an high level VoIP quality of service.
