BT Italia

BT Italia, former BT Albacom, is one of the main operators in Italy for communication services (data transmission, voice and Internet services) and solutions for Business sector (from large corporations to the world of professionals) and Public authorities. At the end of 2005 BT Italia acquired, through British Telecommunications (BT), Atlanet, a national operator for fixed-network telecommunications services in Italy.

Italtel Solution

Italtel has been selected by Atlanet, now BT Italia, to realize a national Next-Generation Network (NGN) to support integrated long distance transport of voice and data traffic. Italtel supplied BT Italia/Atlanet with a iMSS - NGN Class 4 solution, based on Italtel i-SSW (Italtel Softswitch), that provides long distance VoIP transport, PBX access, and E1 (1.544 Mbps) trunks for interconnection with other operators in each PoP (Point of Presence).

Moreover Italtel has been selected by BT Italia, former Bt Albacom, for the deployment of enterprise IP communications services. Italtel supplied BT Italia with iMSS - Enterprise Multimedia Communication solution that enables BT Italia to deliver a wide range of convergent services over broadband for small and medium sized enterprises.

The solution, based on Italtel i-SSW (Italtel Softswitch) and Cisco products, is deployed at the core of BT Italia’s IP network providing final customers with a high level Telephony over IP quality of service.

Italtel also provides BT Italia with a wide range of  professional services: for example, Network Planning, Network Design, Network Support and Maintenance.
