SFR (Société Française du Radiotéléphone) is a French Mobile Company. It has 19 million clients, including over 3 million using 3G (specifically UMTS) technology. SFR is currently 56% owned by the French group Vivendi and 44% by mobile phone Vodafone. In December 2007, SFR owns 40.5 percent of Neuf Cegetel, the largest alternative fixed telecommunications operator in France, the Virtual Mobile Network Operator (MVNO), and the Service Provider able to offer in French broadband Internet access and value-added services such as voice over IP, TV over ADSL or full unbundling. In June 2008, SFR becomes fully owner of Neuf Cegetel.
Italtel has been selected by SFR, formerly Neuf Cegetel, as supplier, on a turn-key basis, of network equipment and services dedicated to transport of international voice traffic over IP. Italtel supplied Neuf Cegetel (Neuf Telecom) with an iMSS-NGN Class 4 solution based on Italtel i-SSW (Italtel Softswitch) and Cisco Systems IP gateways.
Italtel has also been selected by SFR, formerly Neuf Cegetel as the partner to implement the VoIP Broadband solution to address Residential, SOHO, and Corporate market. The supplied iMSS-NGN Class 5 solution is based on the Italtel i-SSW (Italtel Softswitch) and Cisco Systems IP gateways
