ITALTEL AT CISCO EXPO IN TOUR 2006

Today Catania, Sicily, sees the launch of the Cisco Expo in Tour 2006, the annual conference for the business sector organised by Cisco Systems. Italtel, as Platinum Sponsor of the event, will present IP Communication best practices for the worlds of finance and public administration.
Milan, March 28, 2006 – Italtel, one of the leading companies providing solutions, products and services for new generation IP networks, is to present network systems and solutions developed with its partner, Cisco Systems, to meet the demand for integrated communications from medium and large enterprise in the public administration and banking sectors, at the Cisco Expo in Tour 2006, the roadshow set to call at five major Italian cities.
Italtel, in its role as Platinum Sponsor and long-standing partner of Cisco, the world leader in networking, will demonstrate its IP Communication product range by exploring case histories representing the need for integrated communications in the public administration and banking sectors. In particular, Italtel will discuss its IP PBX solutions currently in development for the ASI (Industrial Development Area Consortium) in Palermo province (Sicily) and for the Banco di Desio e della Brianza in Northern Italy.
For both enterprises, Italtel is the system integrator for all solution components and for implementation and commissioning of IP PBX networks based on private exchanges, data systems and Cisco Systems telephone terminals. The solutions installed in the field will enable the interconnection of voice, data, and video over the IP communications protocol and will offer advanced telephony and Contact Centre services, both on the network connecting the three industrial complexes (Palermo Brancaccio, Termini Imerese and Carini) that make up the ASI Consortium, and also on the network connecting the more than 120 branches, and the two administrative centres, which report to the Banco di Desio e della Brianza (a planned total of over 2,000 IP telephone terminals will be connected).
As part of Cisco Expo in Tour 2006, Italtel will demonstrate the benefits and advantages of the IP Communication solution for enterprise, which it developed together with Cisco and which can be offered to companies both directly and through telecom operators. The IP Communication solution, if provided by telecom operators, allows companies to take advantage of the benefits of integrated communications services, based on Cisco Call Manager technology, enabling the provision of innovative multimedia services, increasing company productivity and reducing management costs, by using the virtual communications systems model instead of traditional private branch exchanges.
