Private Mobile LTE/5G Network in Paris airports now live: Italtel is in the project

Milan, November, 9 2021 – Italtel, an Information & Communication Technology (ICT) multinational corporation that designs, develops, and implements solutions for the digital transformation, announces that it is participating as partner in the project for the creation of the new private 4G / 5G mobile network to serve the three Parisian airports of Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Le Bourget. The project was launched by Hub One, digital technologies operator for companies and public organizations and part of the ADP group.

The private 4G/5G mobile network of Hub One will serve a professional ecosystem of more than 120,000 people who work at the three Paris airports every day, across about 1,000 companies of differing sizes and sectors. By deploying the new network, Hub One aims to provide its customers with the secure, high-speed connectivity that is fundamental to ensure their operational efficiency.

The cooperation of Italtel with Hub One started in 2015 with the deployment of the fixed network of Paris airports. Italtel has been selected for the evolution of its fixed solution towards mobile allowing Hub One’s network to be one of the first relying on a natively convergent solution for fixed and mobile in France and making possible the Voice over LTE. As the supplier of the provisioning solution for Hub One’s subscribers and as the system integrator of the StreamWide MCPTT solution for the replacement and modernization of the Tetra network, Italtel has also succeeded with Hub One in the challenge for the overall End-to-End integration of several technologies and suppliers participating in the project.

The digital transformation represents a big opportunity to transform airports intro smart airports and private 5G networks will enable and accelerate this transformation. The network will take over current services and offer new services not only to improve airport safety and security but also to improve technical intervention (refueling the plane, baggage handling, data retrieval, etc.). The switch to 5G should pave the way for another category of services such as the rapid download of flight data upon landing of the aircraft, the use of augmented reality in remote maintenance or the deployment of autonomous vehicles.”, commented Henri Tallon, Director, Telecom Division, Hub One.

We are pleased to collaborate with Hub One and having been selected for this high value-added project confirms the positive partnership we have built over the years. We put our solid system integration capabilities, competence in the fixed to mobile transformation and engineering services at the service of our customers’ digital transformation plans”, commented Florence Michel, Country Manager, Italtel France.
