Italtel wins Bank of Italy tender for the renewal of the Human Communication platform

The platform is a one-stop contact centre tool to support operators of the Euro area interbank systems Target2, T2S and TIPS

Milan, 25 May 2022Italtel will carry out the technological renewal of the contact centre platform in operation for Banca d’Italia, Deutsche Bundesbank, Banque de France and Banco de España.

Italtel, a multinational Information & Communication Technology company, which designs and implements solutions and services for digital transformation, has been awarded the tender launched by Banca d’Italia for the renewal of the Human Communication platform. The platform enables to provide a single contact centre and help desk service to employees operating on the European interbank systems Target2, T2S and TIPS.

Target2 settles interbank payments in the Euro area of significant amounts and Target2-Securities settles securities transactions in central bank currencies simultaneously, at the same costs and in the same manner regardless of the investor’s country of origin; TIPS – Target Instant Payment Settlement – provides a service for real-time settlement of instant payments.

“With our software development expertise, commented Giovanni Salerno, head of the Private & Public Sector Business Unit, “we have created a platform that responds to the specific needs expressed by the Bank of Italy also on behalf of the other central banks. This is an important reconfirmation for us, because we had also built the previous platform, which with this new project is being evolved with state-of-the-art technologies, particularly for cybersecurity aspects.”

Considerable attention was paid in the design and development phase of the system to operational risk management and business continuity aspects, developing a redundancy solution to fully guarantee service continuity.
