Every year, around <strong data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"616\">92 million tons of textile waste<\/strong> end up in landfills, with only a small percentage being recycled.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"236\" data-end=\"1113\">The growing demand for more <strong data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"742\">eco-sustainable solutions<\/strong>, combined with increasingly strict European regulations, is pushing the sector to adopt <strong data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"850\">circular models<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"855\" data-end=\"882\">innovative technologies<\/strong> to reduce its environmental impact. By 2030, textile companies will need to reduce <strong data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"998\">natural resource consumption<\/strong> and significantly improve the recycling of materials, as outlined in the EU <strong data-start=\"1075\" data-end=\"1110\">Textile Sustainability Strategy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1115\" data-end=\"1949\"><strong data-start=\"1115\" data-end=\"1155\">Our Contribution to the MICS Project<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1115\" data-end=\"1949\">As mentioned in the article \u201c<strong data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1287\">Made in Italy Circolare e Sostenibile (MICS): Italtel\u2019s Journey Towards a Sustainable Transition<\/strong>,\u201d Italtel actively contributes to the MICS program with several projects aimed at promoting sustainability in the textile sector. In the <strong data-start=\"1425\" data-end=\"1436\">SPOKE 1<\/strong>, Italtel collaborates with innovative solutions to <strong data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1510\">optimize resources<\/strong> and promote <strong data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1549\">digital sustainability<\/strong>, helping transform the textile sector towards a <strong data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1618\">circular economy<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1622\" \/>In particular, we are involved in <strong data-start=\"1656\" data-end=\"1735\">Project 1.5 \u2013 Cross-sectoral Platform for Sustainable and Circular Textiles<\/strong>: This project focuses on supporting SMEs\u2019 <strong data-start=\"1778\" data-end=\"1803\">ecological transition<\/strong> towards circular models, reducing the use of primary resources and promoting recycling through <strong data-start=\"1899\" data-end=\"1948\">legal, technological, and eco-design services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"3135\"><strong data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"2001\">Digital Waste Passport and the Digital Library<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"3135\">The <strong data-start=\"2008\" data-end=\"2034\">Digital Waste Passport<\/strong> was created to recover <strong data-start=\"2058\" data-end=\"2088\">pre-consumer textile waste<\/strong>, collecting essential information such as technical, chemical, and ecological properties of fibers. This tool supports the reuse and recycling of textile waste, transforming it into <strong data-start=\"2271\" data-end=\"2298\">secondary raw materials<\/strong>, essential for a circular economy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"3135\">The <strong data-start=\"2340\" data-end=\"2359\">Digital Library<\/strong> is the cross-sectoral platform that supports textile companies, but also those in other sectors such as automotive and construction, in utilizing secondary raw materials. It serves as a marketplace to <strong data-start=\"2561\" data-end=\"2597\">value pre-consumer textile waste<\/strong>, ensuring traceability and facilitating the matching of demand and supply of reusable waste materials, optimizing waste management, and creating synergies between industries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"3135\">The benefits of the <strong data-start=\"2795\" data-end=\"2814\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Digital Library<\/strong> are clear: from reducing primary material use with greater use of secondary raw materials to cutting waste management costs, thanks to a system that reduces landfill disposal, and improving company image by committing to sustainable practices and creating new <strong data-start=\"3075\" data-end=\"3099\">industrial synergies<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3104\" data-end=\"3134\">cross-sectoral innovations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3137\" data-end=\"3705\"><strong data-start=\"3137\" data-end=\"3182\">HybridLedger: the Cross-Sectoral Platform<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3137\" data-end=\"3705\"><strong data-start=\"3185\" data-end=\"3201\">HybridLedger<\/strong> is the platform developed by Italtel that integrates private blockchain technology to ensure <strong data-start=\"3295\" data-end=\"3311\">traceability<\/strong> of textile products throughout their supply chain. This platform certifies the authenticity of data regarding the proper recycling of <strong data-start=\"3446\" data-end=\"3480\">pre-consumer textile materials<\/strong>, a key step in ensuring a sustainable product lifecycle.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3137\" data-end=\"3705\">It enables the traceability of each product throughout its lifecycle, improves waste management in an environmentally friendly manner, and reduces landfill disposal.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3707\" data-end=\"4524\"><strong data-start=\"3707\" data-end=\"3755\">Stakeholders and the Circular Textile Market<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3707\" data-end=\"4524\">Stakeholders are crucial to the success of the platform and promoting the circular economy.
