Italtel talks of Telemedicine, Smart Infrastructure & Safety in SouthAfrica

COVID pandemic has called for a faster transition towards the digitalization of services and data as key factor to manage societal needs, sustain economic growth, develop local communities, balance inequalities.

The digital transformation is ignited by the creation and use of scientific hubs and infrastructures dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI), High Performance Computing (HPC) and Big Data. Digital infrastructures are developed by establishing key collaborations between public institutions and private enterprises.

Italtel participates at the event “Civilian and defence applications of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and High Performance Computing” which takes place on June 3-4, 2021 at the International Convention Centre – Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in Pretoria and online.

Alberto Minorini, Head of Mediterranean Area in Italtel, intervenes on June 3rd in Session n.6, dedicated to Smart PA and services to citizens, which starts at 16.50.

In his presentation he describes how Italtel can help Southafrican Public Administration in 3 areas, Public Health, Infrastructure & Safety:

  • Telemedicine: contextual communication between Doctor and Patients enriched with live and historical bio-data (DoctorLINK)
  • Smart Infrastructure: fiber-based non-invasive monitoring of roads, bridges, tunnels and other public domain assets
  • Smart Safety: wearable-based solution able to detect risky situations and prompt rescue to workers
