Italtel and Exprivia to launch new telemedicine system

Jointly developed smart health solution integrates Italtel’s DoctorLINK and Exprivia’s eLifeCare platforms

Milan, February 24, 2017 – Italtel, a leading telecommunications company in IT System Integration, managed services, Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and all-IP solutions, and Exprivia, an international group enabling the digital transformation process through added value solutions, today announced they will launch an advanced telemedicine solution.

The solution brings together Italtel’s DoctorLINK open web platform with Exprivia’s eLifeCare, revolutionizing home care by providing the required infrastructure and services necessary for complete care management. The combined platform integrates remote monitoring, telemedicine and remote consultation, the monitoring and purchase of medical drugs, storage and analysis systems, and the recording of medical data.

DoctorLINK uses WebRTC technology, IoT and contextual communication to provide real-time services to simplify the experience of outpatients and improve interaction between them and the hospital. Through this solution, operated on a smartphone or tablet, medical practitioners can monitor and manage patients in real-time and put them in contact with doctors and specialists via remote video.

The adoption of platforms and solutions supporting a new healthcare model based on care management, de-hospitalization, remote consultation and secure access to personal medical data is key to modern and smart healthcare systems that put user satisfaction at their center,” said Fiorenzo Piergiacomi, Head of Public Sector Account Unit at Italtel. “DoctorLINK has an intuitive user experience and allows a new type of patient management through exchange of information and audio and video communication.”

The platform also allows doctors to record patients’ vital signs in real-time and store records of current treatments, prescriptions and analysis to better inform any changes in therapy. The solution allows the sharing of audio, video and text files, as well as images that are necessary for the therapy.

Paolo Stofella, Business Development Director at Exprivia Healthcare IT said: “With a view to continuity of care between hospital and territory, this new solution enables not only the integration of biometric sensors provided to patients in an IoT logic, but integrates the telepresence and patients’ digital medical record that Exprivia offers on its eLifeCare platform. This allows healthcare professionals to evaluate a patient’s state of health in consideration of his historical clinical situation.

Italtel and Exprivia will be exhibiting their smart health solution at Mobile World Congress – Stand 2G10, Hall 2 – in Barcelona (Monday, February 27 to Thursday, March 2).
