Italtel Spain Supports Diversity and Inclusion at the 2024 STEM Women Congress
Barcelona awoke buzzing with energy and excitement on November 12 and 13 as the 2024 STEM Women Congress took place. This event successfully brought together women from all over the world to share their passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Early on, the venue filled with voices and eager faces, all united by a common goal: to create a space of inclusion and support in fields where female representation remains limited. Italtel, committed to gender equality, was also proudly present.
The opening talks set an inspiring tone, with female leaders in their fields sharing their journeys, the challenges they have faced, and the barriers they have gradually overcome.
Throughout the day, workshops, presentations, and panel discussions covered topics ranging from innovations in artificial intelligence to workplace inclusion policies in tech companies.
In every corner of the event, attendees engaged in animated conversations: young students exchanged ideas with seasoned professionals, and female tech leaders shared experiences with educators.
One of the most moving moments was, without a doubt, the presentation of the STEM Women Awards, where various projects from companies were recognized for their efforts to highlight women’s contributions, best practices in retaining female talent, and more. Applause, smiles, and knowing glances filled the auditorium, underscoring the importance of spaces like these to spotlight the talent and efforts of so many women who, against all odds, continue to open doors in sectors where future leadership will belong to those who succeed in retaining women. One of the round tables featured male participants who are increasingly stepping forward to share their perspectives and support women in this growth and equality revolution.
The 2024 STEM Women Congress left behind not only a trail of inspiration and knowledge but also a firm belief that, united, women in STEM are an unstoppable force.
Companies are increasingly investing in attracting female talent, but it is essential that this be accompanied by a broad societal commitment, beginning at the earliest stages of education. The second day of the Congress focused on this group, inviting boys and girls from their first year of secondary school.
Representing Italtel España at the event were Isabel Herreros (Director of HR), Manuel Garcia (Director of Engineering and Business Development), Susana Roque (Head of Presales), and Natalia Fernández de Losada (Head of Partnerships).
Both Isabel and Manuel are members of Italtel España’s Equality Commission.
