Italtel strengththens its Security Operation Center (SOC)
The SOC, located in Settimo Milanese, has been strengthened to better meet the growing need for security of the company’s customers
Milan, December, 5 2017 – Italtel, a leading telecommunications company in IT system integration, managed services, Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and all-IP solutions, recently reinforced its Security Operation Center by providing it with a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) of AlienVault that, through the monitoring of its internal network, allows to perform demos based on a real environment. The SOC was reinforced in collaboration with We Are Segment, an Italian company that is part of Interlogica Group and is the only certified partner of AlienVault in Italy.
The digital transformation is offering great opportunities for growth to companies but, at the same time, companies are exposed to greater risks of cyber-attacks and data loss, if the appropriate security practices are not implemented right away. Italtel acts as a relevant player in the digitization of the infrastructures of Service Providers and Enterprises. It is developing a growing expertise in cyber security and it is heavily investing in its SOC and in the enrichment of its offering of Managed Security Services (MSS).

One of them is We Are Segment, a company founded in 2014 and active in the field of cyber security and ethical hacking. It was founded by a group of digital security specialists – and guardians – who turned their passion into a project that brings benefits to online communities. This young company is in the spotlight of the world thanks to the flaw identified by its CEO Filippo Cavallarin in the protections of Tor browser, the most used system in the world to browse and communicate anonymously via the web.
