Italtel provided a solution based on its proprietary technology. The evolution is part of Plusnet’s philosophy for constant innovation of its infrastructure to accelerate the digital transformation.
Milan, 12 January 2022 – Italtel, an Information & Communication Technology (ICT) multinational corporation that designs, develops, and implements solutions for the digital transformation, has successfully completed the innovation of the voice core network of Plusnet, a nationwide telecommunication provider in Germany. Plusnet today better addresses the communication needs of its 25,000 business customers and the many connected national and international interconnection partners.
Rolling out the Italtel solution, that replaced part of the existing technology and transformed the infrastructure, Plusnet can further enrich its portfolio of services addressing the communication needs of SMEs and corporate customers (internet, telephony, company network solutions, also cloud-based) as well as providing managed and network services for voice carriers, public utility companies, and local authorities.
The solution is based on Italtel proprietary technology: the Centralized Routing & Policy Engine i-RPS that enables easy deployment of new services and policies, with strong OpEx reduction and High Scalability due to the centralized policy and routing database. The session Border Controller NetMatch that provides a set of functions to enable separated VoIP networks to connect securely and cost-effectively, without compromising Quality of Service (QoS). Italtel’s products were installed in Plusnet’s network in the sites of Cologne and Frankfurt.
